Titanium Grade 9 (UNS R56320) is an approach α alloy. The nominal composition is Ti-3Al-2.5V. It provides higher strength than CP (Commercial Pure) titanium, and unlike Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V), it can be cold worked to obtain moderate high strength and good ductility. It is as weldable as CP grade and has excellent corrosion resistance. Grade 9 titanium alloy is generally used in the annealed state, or in the cold worked and stress relieved annealed state. The maximum working temperature is about 315°C.
